How to use “Search player”

Hello,

do you have a tutorial on how to use “search player”, because i can hardly find any player with it. If i type more than 1 word it can’t find anything.

Thank you for your question.

I believe you’re writing to us regarding the search bar within the FV Player database. In that case, you need to search for specific video file by the Player Name.

Hello Bruno,

we have worked on improving the search function now, but it’s strange that the search didn’t work for you.

Could you please post the player export taken from that wp-admin -> FV Player screen here? I wonder if the URLs are using %20 or + encoding for blank spaces.

Hello Bruno,

each row in that wp-admin -> FV Player table has a “Export” action when you hover it. Once you send over that export to us we will be able to tell what’s going on with the search.

Or you can just post a screenshot of the FV Player editor with that player being edited and video URL visible.

Hello Bruno,

I think the new improved search that we worked on should fix your issue. Could you please reinstall FV Player from this link? https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/484-multiple-words-search.zip To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.

Hello Martin,
While uploading the plugin i get this error “the uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini”
However i’m able to upload 2GB files with no problem and here are php.ini settings

allow_url_fopen = Off
allow_url_include = Off
display_errors = Off
enable_dl = Off
file_uploads = On
max_execution_time = 30
max_input_time = 60
max_input_vars = 1000
memory_limit = 100M
post_max_size = 500M
session.gc_maxlifetime = 1440
session.save_path = “/var/cpanel/php/sessions/ea-php73”
upload_max_filesize = 500M
zlib.output_compression = Off

Is it because i did not delete the previous version of FV Player and just disabled it ? (in case something goes wrong)

Hello Bruno,

I’m not sure why such error would appear if your limits are set to high. The previous version of FV Player should not be a problem either, as what I sent over would use a different folder name.

Hi Martin,

Let’s say you have a player called “the sun is shining”
If you type in the search bar “the sun is shining” it will select all the players that contains the word “the”, the word “sun”, the word “is”, and the word “shining”. When you have thousands of players, searching becomes useless. I’m currently changing the video link in hundreds of players, and this makes me waste A LOT of time, because I have to search into hundreds of results the player i’m looking for. Is there a way to have as only result (or as first result) the player that contains all the words typed, like in any search bar ?

now you can put the search phrase into ‘ or ” to make it an exact match:

"the sun is shining"
```
