[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › How to … › Host videos on 3rd-party server

  • Rmclin 6 years, 10 months ago

    Hello sir,
I want to host my videos on 3rd-party servers which are private servers that don’t allow public access to your files which include (https://openload.co/) these don’t include ( YouTube, Dailymotion, Vimeo) these are public.
So how can I embed my videos on to my wordpress website.
I don’t want to upload directly to my website server.

    Hello Rmclin!

I had a quick look at your example https://openload.co. It looks like the idea here is more about sharing files than using it as a regular video hosting (files can be automatically deleted after certain time). I also got error – Server does not support HTTP range requests! It is to protect downloading of your videos (Premise and others). While this might seem like a good solution, we don’t recommend it as it increases the load of your server and it won’t allow seeking in the videos. If you are looking for video protection from download videos on openlod.co are still quite easy to download. You can read more about video protection in here. Openload seems like a tempting option for a small scale video use as it is free.

Vimeo for example offers an option to host videos privately (they will be shared only where you want them and not on Vimeo) and offers better video protection.

There would be a way of integrating openload.co through API with our player. We might implement it in the future when we get more feature requests.

    Thanks,

    Lucia
