As an administrator, I can add videos to posts by clicking the FV Player button under the title box. I created a new user role called content manager, and when I try to add videos as a content manager, the shortcode does not appear in the post. I tried giving the content manager all permissions like the admin has, it didn’t help. The only difference I saw is when I logged in as an admin, the button on the bottom of the FV-Player popup says “update”, and when logged in as content manager it says “insert”. Is there any setting I can change to allow other users who are not admins to add fvplayer videos to posts?

I did some testing of the ‘User Role Editor’ plugin.I created a new role and turned on all the capabilities (I didn’t know which you originally added to your new account), I was able to create a video shortcode through the editor without any issues and edit the code afterward.
I’d like to know if you were not able to see the shortcode in your WP editor, or how exactly did this issue behave. You said that you were able to use the shortcode editor, but the code itself didn’t appear?

That is correct. I am able to use the shortcode editor, but when I click on the “insert” button, the shortcode doesn’t appear in the WP editor (As I said in a previous post, In cases when it does work – as an administrator, I see this button with the word “update” and not “insert”).
I tried to add users with regular user roles like author and editor (which does not require the User Role Editor plugin, and I can’t add shortcodes for them either. Also, I changed two user’s user roles from ‘content manager’ to ‘administrator’ so they can use the shortcode editor. The first one works (is able to add shortcodes) but the second does not. They have the same capabilities as admins.In case this is related somehow: I use another plugin that is related to users, called ‘Dashboard access’.

Since the User Role Editor worked for me, you could try to disable the Dashboard Access and test it again.
