Videos no longer work (API key warning) after latest update

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Bug Reports › Videos no longer work (API key warning) after latest update

  • Simo A. 3 years, 7 months ago

After updating FV Player Pro to 7.5.6.727, none of my videos works any more.

Here is a sample page with a video: https://www.teamsimmer.com/checkout/server-side-tagging/course-page/

When you click play, it throws the error “It seems this video doesn’t belong into your Vimeo account or you miss the video_files capability for your API key.”

I have not made any changes to my API key, and everything worked fine until this plugin update.

    Please advise.

    Update:

I set Vimeo to use the “Turbocharging Ajax” or whatever the setting was. Now I still get errors but they’re more specific.

When I first try to load a video, it shows the error:

“Video can’t be played because of its privacy settings. Please allow your site domain to embed the video in its settings.”

So then I add my site domain to the video in Vimeo (this was not necessary before the plugin update). Now when I play the video, I get:

“Invalid video response or private video.”

The video behind the original link started working when I changed the video to Public and then back to Private, but here’s an example of a video that doesn’t work right now (I haven’t done the switch to Public and then Private):

I would not enjoy having to go through all my Vimeo videos (there’s hundreds) to fix this setting for all of them. As I said, everything worked fine before the plugin update, so I would hope there’s a way to fix this without having to edit my Vimeo videos.

    Hello Simo,

changing video from private to public and back only helped as FV Player Pro was able to cache the video information while it was public. So now it no longer plays again.

Please upgrade to FV Player Pro 7.5.7.727, there was a bug in the Vimeo fallback API handling. Then your videos should play without changes.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Martin

Thank you – I updated the plugin to 7.5.7.727, cleared my site cache, but the videos are still showing the same errors.

    Best,
    Simo

Never mind, when I unchecked the “Turbocharge Vimeo” option the videos started working.

    Thanks!
    Simo
