html5: Video not properly encoded

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Bug Reports › html5: Video not properly encoded

  • Katie D. 5 years, 8 months ago

I know this topic has been posted before, but my issues appears to be unique. I just created this page:
    https://www.katiesuzukimusic.com/2019-suzuki-winter-workshop/

Play the last video on that page, and go to the end of the video. I find that after the video finishes playing it goes into a loop, quickly showing “html5: Video not properly encoded” message and then disappearing in a loop. The other two behave as they should, and all 3 vids are encoded in the same way. When logged in as admin, the video checker says “Video Ok”.

    Any ideas?

    Regards,
    Katie

Thanks for contacting us and sending us a link to that problematic video. We’re currently investigating on what is causing the issue.

What kind of hosting are you using for your videos?

    Thanks for using our player,

    Juraj

    Hi Katie,

If you’d like us to look into the issues with your video encoding please pick up a pro support incident.

If you can demonstrate the issue is one with our player and not the original encoding of course we’re happy to solve the issues with the player for you.

    Thanks Alec.

I’ll try to resolve the issue on my own (by trying various other transcodes), and if I can’t I will take you up on this. I’m curious why the same Lightworks encoder that generated the other two videos on the page play ok, but the one in question that shows this error doesn’t.

    Regards,
    Katie

    Hi Katie D.,

We’re happy to provide documentation and to troubleshoot bugs in FV Player code for free.

If you would like hands-on help with transcoding it is available as a service.

There are over 100 video encoders available at any given time (some of them come and go) and about thirty video formats, it is simply not possible for us to troubleshoot them all.

Good luck with your transcoding! If you discover some tips which will help someone else in your position with Lightworks, please come back and share them.

Thanks for being part of Foliovision!
