Hello,
when attempting to play a video from Vimeo on Firefox 48, FV Player shows the following error message:
“html5: Nicht unterstütztes Videoformat. Installieren Sie Adobe Flash.”Example-Website: https://landfunker.de/smart-tv-regiomagazin-livestream/
Vimeo is able to play the video in their site.
Unfortunately some users still use these old versions of firefox. Since the video plays on Vimeo, it would make sense, that the video also plays in FV player

We’ve tested Firefox in version 48 for Windows XP/7/8/10 and have not experienced the issue with video not playing on FV Player but playing on Vimeo.
The fact is both FV Player and Vimeo videos work on Firefox 48 if you have At least Windows 8 or newer(and of course both FV Player and Vimeo don’t work on older versions of Windows). It’s caused by older versions of Windows not supporting certain video codecs, not by version of your browser.
As I said earlier we weren’t able to reproduce your issue, but we might be missing something, so you complete system info would be usefull.

WP Admin back-end -> Settings -> FV Player Pro -> Tools -> System InfoAnd please add the version of operating system on which you are experiencing the issue.

I tested this on Archlinux. I’ll also try to reproduce it on Windows.
It might be, that old FF version have no built-in support to mp4. I’ll check that
I tested the Video-Playback in a Windows 10 Home VM with Firefox version 48. The Preroll could be played by fv player, but the video itself could not be played.
Blayback on Vimeo was possible.

I’ve done another thoroughgoing testing, and I’ve got these results:
Firefox 47: Preroll is working properly, video is working for several seconds then the playback error occurs
Firefox 48: Preroll is working properly, video is sometimes working and sometimes the same thing as with the 47 version happens
Firefox 49-66: Everything is working fine
According to release notes for versions 48 and 49, there were done changes in HTML 5 video support. So that’s probably the reason.
I’ll forward this to our development team and contact you with the conclusion in the close future.

Thanks for the bug report.
We won’t be backdating support prior to Firefox 49. We have enough compatibility issues on our plate with almost annual major version updates to iOS and Android.
