Bug in _postmeta meta_key field

Foliovision › Forums › Foliopress WYSIWYG › Bug reports › Bug in _postmeta meta_key field

  • Linda Carter 14 years, 1 month ago

    The plugin is inputting a “wysiwig” entry into the meta_key of each post. It needs to be “_wysiwig” with an underscore, so that WordPress will not read it as an entry when the query_posts () command is used. All of the foliopress meta_value data was displaying on our contents page. Adding the underscore before the “wysiwig” made it go away. If you could please let me know when this has been fixed, I’ll appreciate it. We really like this plugin.

    Hello Linda,

    I guess you are using some special template which shows all the custom post meta values. We didn’t counted on this, but we can fix this in the next release.

    Our custom meta value is not showing in the “Custom Fields” editing box when you edit a post, because it’s an Array, so at least that part works ok.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    What’s bringing it in is the basic WordPress code:

    <?php query_posts(‘category_name=thirteen-two’); ?>

    where we’re calling in specific categories. I imagine it will bring it in any time this code is used:

    <?php query_posts(”); ?>

    Glad to know it’s on the list for a fix. Great plugin.

    Hello Linda,

    new version 0.9.23 uses _wysiwyg post meta, so it will not be visible on your site. It will still work with the old meta key, but will save only into the new one. I recommend that you replace the old key with the new on in the database.

    UPDATE wp_postmeta SET meta_key = '_wysiwyg' WHERE meta_key = 'wysiwyg';

    Thanks,
    Martin
