How do I prevent the duplication of the html popup image?

[Solved]

  • MishaOLS 13 years, 6 months ago

    Hello,

I am having the same problem as the guy who described it here:
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-fv-wordpress-flowplayer-popup-questions?replies=3

I added a html link (a href code) with an image (img src code) into the popup. The result is that it is duplicated. The first one is an image with the share button and the one under it is a clickable image.

Here is how my shortcode looks like:
    [flowplayer src='http://mysite.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/previews/preview_test.f4v' popup='<img src="http://mysite.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/Teaser1.png"/>']

I would very much appreciate if you could give me some advice on how to resolve this. I love your plugin mostly thanks to the popup feature, which right now is useless for me anyway :((.

Thank you! All the best from Misha

    Hi Misha,

The doubling effect was done by purpose to highlight the link, but I understand your frustration with your image link. I see you’re not the only one who doesn’t like this feature, I guess we’ll make it as an option. Watch out for a new version coming out sometime this week.

Hello Zdenka! I am so happy to read that!! I would really appreciate if you could make it an option to turn off the doubling effect! Am also very happy to read that a new version is coming out so soon! Can’t wait to try it. Thank you very much for everything!! All the best from Misha

    Hi Misha,

an option has just been added into Flowplayer to prevent the duplication of the link. Update to version 1.2.14, the option is set to false by default – which is what you need.

Hello Zdenka, thank you very much!! You really helped me. I have however one more question. It might sound a bit silly as I know that it is actually a “pop up” but is it possible to make the popup not to pop up and stay in the player’s window like the splash image does? I was trying to change the css but with no success :(. If it is not possible then its ok, I will make my image smaller, I was just thinking that I would ask you whether it is possible to do in some easy way. Thank you very much for everything!! All the best from Misha

    Hi Misha,

I am not entirely sure what exactly you mean, but there’s no way how you can change the behavior of the popup – it is being brought up by javascript as soon as the video finished playing.

Splash image is at the beginning, and you can use whatever image you like (you can write into the image what you need like for example here: http://wpmobilevideoplayer.com/ ), but it is not possible to include any html into the splash image(no links or additional images).

Hello Zdenka, thank you very much for your reply. You understood me well, now I know that it is brought up by javascript and I can’t do anything about it. I will just resize the image to be smaller and fit into the player’s window even with the effect. I know that the splash image wouldn’t solve anything for me as I need the image to contain a link. But its completely ok, I will solve it with the smaller image. Thank you very much again! Have a nice day! Misha
