I need to develop a javascript integration with the fv player pro javascript api, to track events.
My development environment is a wordpress multi site installation, so the site I’m working on is something like http://site1.NOTLOCALHOST.local
So the domain is not 127.0.0.1 nor localhost (altough it of course resolves to 127.0.0.1).
How can I have the pro functionality working locally? In particular the video I’m trying to stream uses HLS

Using the player on localhost won’t allow you to receive updates and use some features like Vimeo integration. You could, however, use the free player that supports HLS natively.
And what kind of events would you want to track?

I’m starting with basic tracking and managed to get everything working by testing directly in production…
The issue is I can’t get the plugin to play while developing locally

FV Player should work on localhost, although FV Player Pro won’t work on an unlicensed domain, so there might be an issue with that. What kind of videos are you trying to use?

Sorry, FV Player Pro will work, only Vimeo and some other services won’t.

If the HLS license acquisition URL (step 9. in our encrypted HLS guide) is pointed to the live site, it just won’t work, as the decryption key is site-specific. You will have to set up a new test stream and specify your dev site for the license acquisition.
