Quality switching display issue:
I remember reading quality switching for HLS was not possible. Yet since v7 there is a quality switching menu on my player. This is ok, the only problem is the weird quality “labels”. Menu shows “SD” for my 576p, and it shows “M” for my 360p and 224p streams. Is there a way to customize these labels? I have my own ones in quality switching settings, but they are ignored. All my streams are HLS from AWS.

Hello Evélina,
the quality switching labels have no effect on this, that is a special FV Player Pro feature which let you setup quality switching with MP4 videos. It’s not suited for HLS. But we are going to simplify that to offer fixed quality versions for which you have to enter your quality prefixes used in the filenames.
Regarding your issue – for next release we have improved it label 360p as SD if there is some lower quality suitable for mobile. And anything above 540p is considered HD.

Makes sense for the HLS labels, I knew quality switching labels were not suited for HLS so thanks for confirmation.
About my issue with not accurate labels, I’m glad this will be improved (as SD label showing on our HD stream was not the best for our image regarding customers).
I will let you know if I still experience unexpected labels after future updates.I’m very impressed by how your player has become so refined, trendy and well coded. It has always been to me a top-notch plugin but now with v7 and all improvements from past years you guys/girls are really offering and amazing web player. THANK YOU!
