Hello dear Foliovision team,
I am using FV Player Pro (Version 7.3.19.727) with the FV Player Vimeo Security Plugin (Version 7.3.16.727) to play my Vimeo videos safely on my site.
I’m referring to your mail from 30.08.2019 in which you mentioned that the new FV Player Pro version has a local fallback to play the videos despite problems. (“To enable local fallback, just upgrade FV Player Pro (the automated update is live now”)). However, this would cause a security risk for the download. If the security of my videos is important to me, I simply should not update FV Player Pro. (“If the security of your videos is paramount above all, you should avoid updating to the latest FV Player Pro”).
Luckily my videos are currently running without problems – but does it mean that I should never update the plugin, because otherwise I would get into the local fallback setting, which I don’t want, because security is more important to me than that the videos continue to be played if problems should occur for a short time?
Another point is that I want to update my PHP – and for this I am suggested to update all my used plugins before I switch to a current PHP version. I am currently using PHP version 5.6 and would like to upgrade to 7.2 or maybe 7.3. Will my currently used FV Player Pro (version 7.3.16.727) and FV Player Vimeo Security Plugin (version 7.3.16.727) work on PHP 7.2 and 7.3 without problems? Or do I need to update the plugins?I would like to ask for your feedback and thank you in advance for your great support.
Many greetings,
Hoshang
