Photo Assistant - Junior Web Designer

This is your opportunity to work on photography and websites in Bratislava's Old Town. Foliovision is seeking a photo assistant - junior web designer (25 - 45 hours per week).

JOB DESCRIPTION

• developing and retouching photographs from RAW files in Photoshop CS3
• managing our image collection
• posting these images to client sites and company sites
• preparing high quality prints of our own photographs for clients and sale
• preparing collections for exhibition (prints and frames and labelling)
• managing our accounts at Microstock agencies (both buying and selling)
• choosing and purchasing external photographs to illustrate client websites
• assisting the site promotion team with HTML layout and image posting
• aiding the principal designer with content preparation and layout
• colour calibration of our work stations (after training)

QUALIFICATIONS

• honest and hard-working
• intellectually curious
• positive outlook and energy
• attention to detail
• strong basic Photoshop skills
• understanding of basic principles of photographic composition
• good feel for colour
• basic knowledge of web design (good HTML skills, basic CSS)
• own photographic portfolio (even if student level)
• good English or German
• intention to remain in Bratislava for a minimum of two years: this is not a temporary or short term job

OTHER

This is an ideal job for an advanced photography student or a beginning professional photographer. Office hours are flexible so you will be able to continue to do your own paid photo gigs as well as work full-time for us.
